My first ever ferrata, followed after a climbing course with local guides. Later he traveled solo several times. A little more than an hour from home is a pleasant trip. It is not a difficult ferrata, abundantly aided perhaps too much, repeatable several times in the same day given the brevity.

For a long time I wanted to have this experience, considering that the last fact was at 19 and today I have a little more, Considering that those were military exercises and today things have changed in more security and personal protection. I trained, I prepared myself and in finding more technical information I discovered the website ferrate365. Good! this morning before I face the first one the easier “ferrata West or the last Sun” just to consolidate and approach a more advanced challenge that is the Ferrata della Pietra di Bismantova. I meet two, "characters" to whom I ask for some information, considering that in the world of hiking people are very helpful I expect the same treatment. Well they gave me all the information, they gave me details, dispensed recommendations, they gave me a course that at that point I no longer had that little doubt that I had been dragging along for days. Well pretend? No! The two "characters" one the creator and administrator of this site and the other the founder. Could it have happened to me better? No! A sincere thanks to these two beautiful people.

It gave me great pleasure to exchange a chat today under the walls of the Stone. Having heard "I follow the Ferrate365 page" so, from nothing, made it clear that the time we spent on the site, the Facebook page and the Group were well spent !!

Traveled in October 2018, I find this ferrata on average challenging, there are no particularly exposed passages, but it is very impressive as it goes up the steep wall of the beautiful, suggestive and panoramic Pietra di Bismantova.
From the point of view of the trip, I liked it a lot because it allows you to admire the view both during the ascent and once you get to the top from where you can admire the hills that lead to the plain and the peaks of the Apennines.

Rebuilt solo after forty years! The changes made in the meantime certainly make it safer, without detracting from the commitment to climb it. From what I remember, in the final part, they must have added only one more bracket. Overall, a route that is always very exciting: even the approach path is particular, with continuous ups and downs under the dizzying walls of the Stone.

Very nice the initial section that goes down .... the final wall is vertical and exposed but too many brackets ... particular environment

    First ferrata with CAI classmates.
Emotion to the maximum, then it starts and you focus on progression.
It is not difficult but not easy either, the vertical section is beautiful but very "stirred".
    Ferrata however varied and satisfying.

It was my first ferrata and I was afraid at the beginning of not being able to cover it completely then, thanks also to various advice from a friend, I succeeded without any particular problems.
It's a nice "entry level" via ferrata with a bit of all the key steps to understand if the "ferrate" world can be in your strings.
    Absolutely recommended.

First "real" ferrata. The beginning is quite simple. The two parts downhill were not particularly difficult, thanks also to the reviews read that suggested particular attention (thanks once again boys of your beautiful and precious work on the site and the page fb).
The most challenging part for me was the second: the verticality didn't bother me particularly, but probably the inexperience didn't allow me to find that innumerable series of holds that obviously are there. Has practically no training and my quintal done the rest?
The most difficult part for me was the last "wall", before the final diagonal.
I will come back and I will certainly have less difficulty.

Interesting via ferrata for beginners as the difficulties are limited.
Short-lasting ferrata (about an hour) but quite varied in its kind.
I have traveled many times because in the vicinity of the city where I live, it is always a pleasure every time.
Fairly exposed, I personally find the greatest difficulties in downhill sections.

It was my first ferrata. The via ferrata is not long but varied and immediately puts to the test with a couple of non-trivial downhill passages the first time. The vertical part extends over a long series of very beautiful and largely climbable corners. Ideal via ferrata to travel in mid-seasons.

Beautiful via ferrata, close to the city. It is in good condition (August 2018).
Perfect for learning the techniques safely and for assessing whether the transition from trekking to via ferrata is done for the hiker.
The Bismantova stone is quite unique in its shape and geographical position. It is still worthwhile for a day out.
