The Path Aided to Moregallo is an easy aided path that goes up the west ridge of Monte Moregallo in the Prealps of Como. The Path goes up a good gap with some sections along the ridge aided in the most exposed and vertical sections.
The starting point is the hamlet of Belvedere, in the municipality of Valmadrera in the province of Como. When you reach the block, you must arrive near the start of a road that is closed to traffic and look for parking nearby. From there the approach path will start.

From the inhabited area of Belvedere you go up to San Tomaso where there is a chapel with a small pole and several trail signs on the routes to be traveled. In this case we will take the right on path 6 - 7 in the direction of the source of Sambrosera where many paths depart towards Moregallo and the Corni di Canzo. At this crossroads we will hold the left going up the Sant'Antonio Valley towards the Bocchette di Moregge. At the Bocchette di Moregge we will see on the left the Corni di Canzo and on the right the Moregallo, objective of our itinerary. We will keep the right (east) at the junction and soon we will reach the beginning of the Aided path of Moregallo along the west ridge (2h 15 'from the parking lot).
Along the path, initially easy and wide then gradually narrower and exposed, we will reach a saddle with steep slopes on both sides. On our right you will see the Canalone Belasa (here the report for the climb). We will continue uphill until we reach the first chains. This stretch follows the hillside slightly downhill until it meets a crossroads, let's say an escape route if one does not feel like doing other aided sections: keeping to the right, take the easy path de Tavoulera that runs under the ridge. Instead we will keep the left to go up and down the ridge to the summit.
Follow the path downhill until you reach a series of aided passages: inclined ramps, short walls with rocks and ledges ledges until you reach the last vertical section. This is a little more airy and challenging than the previous ones, but the rock has excellent climbing opportunities. With this last step we reach the top to the Moregallo (40 'from the Bocchette di Moregge - 3h total).
For the descent it must be considered whether to retrace the west ridge or whether to take a ring route along the east ridge:
The Aided path of Moregallo is an easy itinerary that climbs up the west ridge between some rocky pulpits ascending to reach the summit. The path is suitable for everyone and presents at the beginning an alternative route for not wanting to continue along the aided sections.
For experienced hikers, the Aided path to the Moregallo could be combined with the ascent of the Belasa canalone (aided mountaineering itinerary, with free passages up to the III degree). From the Moregallo it is possible to undertake other itineraries, paying attention to the accumulated fatigue and the difficulty of the itineraries: the Via Ferrata at Corni di Canzo, the Ferrata of the 30th OSA al Corno RAT or the easy one Aided path of the Vasche.
